Are you ready for a Senior Financial Accountant role that reaches beyond traditional reporting?

This opportunity sits at the intersection of financial stewardship, commercial insight and stakeholder engagement. It will suit someone who enjoys complexity, values accuracy and takes satisfaction from producing work that genuinely informs business decisions.

The opportunity
Our client is a well-established investment and asset management business with interests across a substantial portfolio. With strong foundations already in place, this role has been created to support the continued growth, reporting discipline and commercial sophistication of several managed accounts.

While the title is Senior Financial Accountant, the scope is broader than a standard reporting role. You’ll work across multiple entities and investment structures, providing consolidated financial reporting, supporting investor and stakeholder communication, contributing commercial insight and helping manage the financial rhythm of evolving operational businesses.

This is not a transactional finance role, nor is it purely compliance focused. It requires someone comfortable operating with autonomy, balancing technical precision with commercial awareness and building credibility with a range of senior stakeholders.

What you’ll be responsible for
You’ll play a central role in the financial management and reporting of the managed portfolio, including:
  • Leading monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting processes
  • Supporting investor, stakeholder and senior leadership reporting requirements
  • Acting as a key contact through annual audit engagements
  • Contributing to budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis
  • Providing commercially informed insight across multi-entity operating environments
About you
You’re likely to be a Chartered Accountant with strong technical capability and several years’ experience in a complex commercial, investment, advisory or multi-entity environment.

Just as importantly, you’ll bring sound judgement, a calm and pragmatic style and the confidence to work independently while contributing to a capable and collaborative team.

You’ll bring:
  • CA qualification and strong technical accounting capability
  • Experience working across complex reporting environments
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational discipline
  • Confidence managing shifting priorities and multiple stakeholders
  • A credible, professional communication style
  • Experience in primary industries, managed funds, investment structures or complex multi-entity environments would be advantageous, but is not essential
Why this role stands out
Opportunities of this nature are relatively uncommon in the Christchurch market.

This role offers meaningful breadth, genuine complexity and exposure to commercially significant assets, while sitting within an established business with strong leadership and mature systems already in place.

It will appeal to someone who enjoys working close to the commercial realities of a business, values long-term impact over short-term noise and wants a role that combines technical depth with broader organisational influence.

We’re reviewing applications as they come in, so early applications are encouraged, as suitable candidates may be progressed prior to the closing date.
