About the Company Christchurch Engine Centre is a joint venture between Pratt & Whitney and Air New Zealand, delivering world-class aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul services. As part of RTX, Pratt & Whitney is a global leader in the design, manufacture and servicing of aircraft engines, supporting some of the world’s most advanced aerospace programmes.
The Christchurch operation plays a critical role in this global network and is entering a major growth phase driven by new engine programmes and increasing demand.
With high engagement, low turnover and a strong focus on development, this is a business where people build long-term careers. You’ll join a collaborative, team-based environment with genuine pride in its work, all within a globally connected organisation.
About the Role Reporting into the global Talent Acquisition team, this role works closely with local HR leadership while being supported by regional teams based in Singapore and India. You’ll operate as the on-the-ground lead in New Zealand, with a high degree of autonomy, while staying connected to global frameworks and support.
The immediate focus is clear – deliver a large-scale hiring ramp (more than 100 roles over the next 12 months) across a technical workforce.
This is a hands-on role. You will be actively managing recruitment delivery, working at pace to source, screen, coordinate and move candidates through the process efficiently.
Alongside this, there is scope to contribute to continuous improvement – refining processes, supporting workforce planning and aligning with global best practice – but delivery remains the priority.
You will operate as the local TA lead – the key point of contact for hiring managers and leadership, while collaborating with global and regional teams.
Key Responsibilities - Lead end-to-end recruitment across a high-volume, technical workforce
- Manage large candidate pipelines and keep hiring activity moving at pace
- Partner closely with hiring leaders to coordinate interviews and hiring decisions
- Deliver efficient, high-quality recruitment processes at scale (including bulk hiring initiatives)
- Develop proactive sourcing approaches locally and, where required, internationally
- Build relationships with universities, training providers and industry networks
- Monitor recruitment activity and provide visibility of progress, risks and bottlenecks
Ideal Candidate Profile We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced recruitment environment and enjoys being hands-on.
You’ll bring energy, structure and a strong sense of ownership – someone who is comfortable managing multiple moving parts while maintaining quality and candidate experience.
You’ll be proactive and adaptable, able to build relationships quickly and keep momentum across a high volume of roles.
- Solid experience in talent acquisition, including high-volume or campaign-based hiring
- Comfortable operating at pace and managing competing priorities
- Exposure to technical, industrial or operational environments is advantageous
- Strong stakeholder engagement – able to influence and coordinate effectively
- Comfortable working in a globally connected team, including across time zones
- Able to balance hands-on delivery with a continuous improvement mindset
- Confident working autonomously within a broader team
This role will suit someone who enjoys delivery, takes pride in getting things done and is ready to step into a role with real ownership and visibility.
Why This Role? This is a rare opportunity to join a globally recognised aerospace leader with a strong New Zealand footprint, at a pivotal stage of growth and development.
- Play a key role in a significant hiring programme, directly influencing the future workforce
- Work in a globally connected organisation with established systems and support
- Be part of an innovative, high-performing and highly engaged culture
- Gain exposure to international teams and best practice
This is a demanding role, but for the right person, it offers real scope, visibility and the chance to make a meaningful impact.
