Step into a purpose-led interim leadership role supporting wellbeing and safety, leading practitioners through busy, high-need periods.

This is an opportunity to step into a meaningful interim leadership role within a large, values-driven organisation where wellbeing, care and safety are thoughtfully embedded in everyday practice.

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate leader to provide interim management of a frontline wellbeing and pastoral care service. This role plays a critical part in ensuring individuals feel supported, safe and able to navigate challenging situations, including times of personal distress or crisis.

You will lead a small, highly skilled team of practitioners who support people presenting with a wide range of needs, from everyday guidance and emotional support through to complex mental health concerns and critical incidents. Your focus will be on providing calm, steady leadership, maintaining safe practice, overseeing case management and ensuring effective crisis response in partnership with internal teams and external agencies.

This is not a transformation or change role. The priority is providing stability, confidence and ensuring continuity in the service. You will bring reassurance to a team operating under pressure, uphold strong professional and ethical standards, and ensure consistent, culturally informed support continues during a busy and demanding period.

About you:
  • Background in social services, mental health, counselling, youth support or a related wellbeing field
  • Experience leading or supervising practitioners working in complex environments
  • Calm and confident under pressure, with sound professional judgement
  • Comfortable responding to high-risk or crisis situations
  • Leads with empathy, clarity and professionalism
  • Values reflective practice, supervision and team wellbeing
What's on offer
  • Interim leadership role with genuine purpose and impact
  • Opportunity to lead a skilled, values-driven team
  • Supportive senior leadership and strong internal partnerships
  • Full time role, 37.5 hours per week, with some flexibility required
  • Contract expected to run for several months
  • Salary aligned to a senior professional band and experience
If you are an experienced wellbeing leader looking to step into a role where your skills, judgement and care will truly matter, we would love to hear from you.
