About the Role
Reporting to the Managing Director, this is a sole-charge role and a key member of the Senior Leadership Team. You'll provide both strategic and hands-on HR leadership, working closely with managers and teams across all sites to strengthen performance, engagement and capability.
 
The role covers the full people and culture remit — from employment relations, recruitment and development through to wellbeing, engagement and recognition initiatives. You'll help shape the company's people strategy, guiding leaders to embed consistent, practical approaches that reflect Value Tyres' culture and values.

This is a full-time, office-based role located at the Head Office in Hornby.
 
Key Focus Areas
  • Provide practical HR advice and leadership to managers and teams
  • Embed performance, development, and engagement frameworks
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and employment relations
  • Drive culture, capability, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Champion health, safety, and wellbeing practices
  • Support organisational change and growth projects
About You
You're an experienced HR professional who is both practical and people-focused, confident working across all levels of the business. You bring sound judgement, empathy and credibility, and you're comfortable balancing strategic priorities with hands-on delivery in a sole-charge environment. Experience in a multi-site or operational setting would be an advantage.
 
You'll bring:
  • Broad HR experience, including employment relations and leadership coaching
  • Strong understanding of NZ employment legislation and best practice
  • Proven ability to build capability, engagement and performance frameworks
  • Clear, confident communication and strong relationship-building skills
  • A calm, proactive and solutions-focused approach
