About the Role Reporting to the Finance Operations Manager - Horticulture, this Assistant Accountant role supports the financial operations of Craigmore's horticultural entities. The position combines financial processing, reconciliations, and compliance responsibilities with management reporting, budgeting, and cashflow support.  
 This is a broad role where accuracy and attention to detail are critical. You will be involved in accounts payable and receivable management, month-end reconciliations, reporting, payroll back-up and statutory compliance. The role offers the chance to build depth of experience across multiple entities in a complex and fast-paced environment, while contributing to process improvements and strengthening reporting outcomes.   
Key Responsibilities  - Manage accounts payable/receivable processes and ensure timely creditor and debtor management.
- Complete reconciliations, month-end accounting, and support accurate management reporting.
- Assist with annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and ongoing performance monitoring.
- Maintain fixed asset registers, capex files, and accurate job costing.
- Prepare cashflow forecasts, reconcile bank accounts, and support IRD compliance (GST, FBT, PAYE).
- Provide payroll back-up and contribute to process and reporting improvements.
About You You are an ambitious accounting professional with a solid grounding in financial and management accounting. You will bring: 
 - Degree or diploma in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance (CA/CPA desirable).
- Experience in financial or management accounting; CA practice exposure advantageous.
- Strong technical accounting skills across reconciliations, reporting, budgeting, and compliance.
- Proficiency with accounting systems and strong Excel skills; BI tools a plus.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a busy environment.
- Clear communicator with a proactive, improvement-focused approach and an interest in horticulture/agriculture desirable.
