About the Role
 
This is a newly created position for a capable and practical generalist HR Business Partner to support SEIPP through a period of rapid growth and transformation. Based in Christchurch and reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager, this is a hands-on, high trust role with genuine scope to make an impact.
 
You'll work closely with leaders and staff at every level from site teams through to senior management to embed practical, values aligned HR systems and processes. The focus is on keeping HR approachable and grounded, supporting everyday people matters with clarity and confidence, and building capability and consistency across the employee experience.
 
Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading recruitment and onboarding, including job design, advertising, interviews and induction.
  • Providing practical HR guidance on day-to-day matters, including ER, performance and conduct.
  • Building trusted relationships to support capability and engagement.
  • Supporting fit for purpose HR processes and systems for a growing business.
  • Facilitating L&D, wellbeing and engagement initiatives.
  • Ensuring HR documentation and compliance remain current and people friendly.
  • Contributing to performance review cycles, remuneration reviews and exit processes. 
About You
 
To thrive here, you'll be down to earth, quick thinking and able to relate easily to people from all walks of life. You'll be clear and concise when you need to be, won't shy away from tough conversations, and will earn respect by rolling up your sleeves and leading through action.
 
You'll also bring:
  • A tertiary qualification in Human Resources (or related discipline).
  • Broad generalist HR experience across recruitment, onboarding, performance, policy and employment relations.
  • Strong knowledge of NZ employment law and the confidence to provide timely, practical advice.
  • Experience facilitating inductions, training or workshops in an engaging and approachable way.
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills, with a track record of partnering with managers to solve real business challenges.
  • Experience in construction, infrastructure, or another fast-paced sector (preferred).
