About the Role
This is a 6 month fixed term role reporting to the GM Finance. The Senior Accountant provides experienced, hands-on support during a key transitional period and as the business continues to grow and expand its investments. This is a broad, practical role spanning management and financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, audit preparation, and general accounting across multiple entities.
 
You’ll work closely with the GM Finance and Finance Managers to deliver accurate, timely financial information that supports sound business decisions. The position offers genuine variety and exposure — from detailed financial work through to high-level analysis and project involvement — within a collaborative, professional environment that values initiative, accuracy, and partnership.
 
Hybrid working arrangements and flexibility around hours can be discussed.
 
Key Responsibilities
This role offers visibility across Craigmore’s operations — combining detailed accounting work with broader financial analysis and insight. You’ll work across teams and entities, contributing to accurate reporting and sound business decisions.
  • Assist with statutory reporting, audit coordination, and tax compliance
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling activities
  • Provide analysis and insights to aid decision-making across sectors
  • Contribute to process improvements and support team development
  • Provide hands-on assistance with accounting tasks as needed
About You
You’ll be an experienced accountant with strong technical knowledge and a practical, adaptable approach. You enjoy variety, take ownership, and can balance hands-on accounting with analytical support across multiple entities.
You will bring:
  • CA qualification (or equivalent) 
  • Proven experience in management and financial accounting
  • Strong Excel and system skills; experience with integrated accounting platforms
  • Sound understanding of New Zealand taxation and reporting compliance
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • A logical, methodical, and proactive style
  • Agricultural or investment sector experience is beneficial but not essential.
