Craigmore Sustainables (Craigmore) is a distinctive New Zealand-owned and operated company overseeing more than 35,000 hectares of dairy, grazing, forestry, and horticulture properties. They manage 71 properties in total, with more pending settlement across the country. Managing over $1.1 billion in assets and employing more than 350 people, Craigmore is at the forefront of sustainable land management.
 
Managing a diverse portfolio of farming, forestry, and horticulture assets across New Zealand, recent growth reflects Craigmore’s success and commitment to sustainability. To support this development, they are evolving the Finance team, FinCo, to meet the needs of a growing and dynamic organisation.
 
The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day financial operations of Craigmore’s horticulture division. Reporting to the Finance Manager – Horticulture, the role will lead transactional processes, including accounts payable, cashflow management and general ledger oversight. The successful candidate will be instrumental in improving systems, driving team performance, and supporting Craigmore’s strategic goals in the horticulture sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage transactional finance processes, including accounts payable, cashflow management and general ledger oversight.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance in financial operations, aligning with organisational policies.
  • Lead and mentor a small team, building capability and driving high performance.
  • Support the Finance Manager – Horticulture by improving financial processes and reporting frameworks.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
  • Relevant qualifications in accounting or financial management, a CA or equivalent qualification is preferred but not essential.
  • Experience in financial operations, including general ledger management.
  • Leadership experience, with the ability to mentor and develop team members.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • An interest, passion or affinity with the agricultural and horticultural sectors.
