The Role
As Safety & Wellbeing Lead, you’ll design and implement a best-practice framework for health, safety, and wellbeing that fosters a safe, supportive environment for staff. Your work will minimise harm, promote safety, and enhance overall wellbeing. You will influence, coach and advise managers and staff, develop policies and systems, and ensure compliance with legislative standards and accreditations, creating a culture of safety for staff and the individuals they support.
  
This role reports directly to a supportive and experienced GM of People and Culture and is an integral part of, and works in close collaboration with, the People and Capability team. The role also has some support from the Learning, Safety & Wellbeing Coordinator, and works alongside the Learning & Development Manager, making this ideal for an emerging leader looking to grow their management and leadership skills.
  
Key Requirements
  • NZ Certificate in Workplace Health and Safety Practice (Level 4) beneficial.
  • Creative, analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in the disability, health, or social services sectors.
  • Proficiency in facilitating training workshops.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Influencing, coaching and relationship management skills.
